How do I hide a label that is being used in one project so that it is not visible to other projects?

James Lovell November 8, 2021

I have an old obsolete project which makes use of many labels.

I also have a new project, and when I select a label to use for issues in this new project, a lot of the labels used for the old project are visible in the drop-down suggestion menu.

Is there a way of changing these labels so that they are local to the old project only, and don't become visible to the new project?

(I am aware that I can bulk-remove the labels from the old project, but for audit purposes I would prefer to keep them)

Thank you.

Hello James,

In order not to see these labels you have to remove access to issues that contain that label.

What I would do is add an issue security scheme, apply it to all issues in that project but the scheme should be role-based so if you, someone else, or a group of people need access to these issues you just assign them to the role and you/they have access.

Or you can set a permission scheme in which you don't have browse permissions but since you are an admin you can grant the permissions to yourself.

BR, Olga
