How do I link JIRA tickets on multiple boards?

We have a task on one sprint board and the same task duplicated on another board. Can these two be linked and tracked together?

Yes, you basically need to update the filter query on the two boards to point to the same project (and thereby to the same issue).

I do not recommend create duplicate issues in two projects and then tracking it in twoplaces. Plus added overhead in maintaining synchronisation.
