How do I remove URL "useStoredSettings=true"?

I am not sure how I did this in Jira, but whenever I click on a board with URL eg ".../RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=9", it will automatically add "&useStoredSettings=true" to the end of the URL.

Then immediately, the URL gets updated with ".../RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=9&view=reporting&chart=burnupChart&sprint=4".

I just want ".../RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=9" with no additional saved settings, but I don't know how I had set it originally nor do I know how to clear it. I looked in my profile and tried to find settings on this page.

I do not have administrator permission to this board, and no one else in my team is observing this problem.

I have observed this problem with my login on two different PCs, so I know it's something to do with my personal settings/preferences.

Can anyone give me advice on this please?

Hi Belinda,

I've tested on my test instance and at first, it didn't happen, so the only configuration that I had to change on my personal settings was "Watch your issues". After I changed this setting I started to see the &useStoredSettings=true when going from a board to another. I'm really not sure if this caused this property to appear in the URL.
Even changing the configuration as it was before and using three different browsers and incognito mode, the &useStoredSettings=true still appears.

Also, it only appears when I click on "Other boards", but if I navigate on the boards from only one project, this property does not appear.

Checking in the database, this information gets stored there and we can't remove this information.

This property does not affect anything and does not change anything on the boards.

Regards,
Angélica

Hi Angélica

Thank you for looking at my issue.

The only problem I have with this setting is that whenever I try to open a board, it adds "&useStoredSettings=true" which changes to "&view=reporting&chart=burnupChart&sprint=4". This gives me  the "Burnup Chart" with message "This chart cannot be displayed. There are no estimated issues in this sprint". So I see nothing - no stories nor issues.

So I click on the board name in the breadcrumb (top left corner), but it does the same thing again. That is add "&useStoredSettings=true" which changes to "&view=reporting&chart=burnupChart&sprint=4", which gives me the "Burnup Chart" with the same error.

So I can never get back to that board using the webpage, unless I explicity modify the URL to remove anything extra eg "&view=reporting&chart=burnupChart&sprint=4".

All I want to see are my swimlanes/stories/etc.

Is this a bug? Should an issue be logged for this? At least, there should be a way to remove this "useStoredSettings" option. Please. I don't want to keep modifying the URL all of the time.

Thank you.
Belinda

PS. I tried to change my settings for "Watch your issues" and confirm that it does not remove "&useStoredSettings=true".

Hi Belinda,

Thank you for the details.
I've created a request with our support for us to better investigate and check the permissions.
Also, it would be great if we access your instance to try to reproduce the error.
You will receive an email with the ticket number.
I'll be watching the ticket and once it's resolved, I'll post here as well.

Regards,
Angélica

We're having this same issue, it would be nice to know if there was a resolution!

Hi John,

I'm sorry I had to dig out my old emails about this issue. Unfortunately, I only have emails from the support person and none of my comments, but his comments were the following:

"Usually, Jira will automatically redirect you to the section where you last visited the board."

"Yes, I able to see the same issue on my end.

For BD Board, I click on Back to project > Active Sprints. Then I access https://xxx.atlassian.net/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=9&useStoredSettings=true again and I can see it no longer redirect to the report. Instead, it's now showing the Active Sprint.

Can you check how it goes on your end?

As we mentioned earlier, &useStoredSettings=true will automatically redirect you to the section where you last clicked on."

To fix the problem, I vaguely remember clicking/navigating elsewhere on the board, so that it no longer remembers that setting. I don't remember him explicitly doing anything specific for me.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for getting back to me!

This issue was being experienced by some users, useStoredSettings=true causing a redirect to the Cumulative Flow Diagram report.

Clearing all cookies (Ctrl-Shift-Delete) seems to have fixed it.

I had the same issue for a few days - after a heavy research found that this is due to the URL change with "&useStoredSettings=true ". Her is what solved this.

Go to Settings > System

When I had the problem of loading the boards, "Allow users to watch issues" was set to "ON". Look like it's a bug associate with that. Changing this to "OFF" resolves the captioned issue.
