Is there a way to either not show a closed column or not show closed items on a team managed Kanban board?
I've tried deleting the column but then I have to move the statuses to another column. I can't change the filter for the board to not show closed.
This project also doesn't have releases, so I can't "release items" either.
Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks.
Hi @Doug Poirier ,
After asking to Jira support team, finally they found a solution for me.
Look at this picture
There are 3 issues with DONE status, however the "resolution" fields are different. In two of them (they have the green check), the resolution field is = DONE. In the other one, the resolution field is "unresolved".
This was the problem for me. The resolution field had different options because we migrated it from a previous project, and some issues don't get "DONE" resolution at the same time than "DONE" status.
Now finally my DONE column are totally empty :D
I hope it helps to you, and thanks to @Ankita Khandelwal
Bye!
Hi!
I have the same issue than @Doug Poirier . I'm the project's administrator but I can't see the "Clear x Done issue" option.
Does anyone find the solution to it?
Regards.

It's funny you're asking about this. I had moved on from trying to figure this out. Then, just recently I was searching again and found my own post with no answer.
I ended up just moving the items that were closed back to the bottom of backlog. It's not the cleanest solution, but at least the board was cleared.

Definitely it's not the cleanest solution... hehe
I remember to use this feature (Clear "done" issues) in other projects of my last company... But now I'm not sure if those were company-managed projects.
It is really strange not to receive any solution from Jira.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!!
As per your discription, I understand that you want to delete done column, but this is not the best practice but o would suggest you the clearing done issues so it won't appear on board.
Clear Done issues from your board
If you work in a Kanban style, Done issues are automatically cleared from the board every 14 days. If you’re working with a large number of issues, you can keep your board tidy by manually clearing the issues in your Done column.
To manually clear Done issues from your board, hover over the Done column and select More (…) > Clear Done issues.
Once an issue is cleared, it will no longer appear on your board. This also applies to the issue’s subtasks. When a parent issue is cleared, its subtasks are also cleared, regardless of each subtask’s status.
To view cleared issues, click See all Done issues in the Done column, or go though issue navigator and select the Done filter.
Note: Only project admin and Jira Admin can clear Done issues.
Please let me know if the provided answer is helpful or for any queries and questions.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want to delete anything. I just don't want to see it on the board after it has been closed.
I'm a project administrator, but still don't have access to that "clear" feature. Any suggestions?
This is a team-managed project if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
DougP

Please check on the Kanban board Configuration weather you have Board administrator permission or not.
Navigate to Project> Kanban Board>General
Search for Board Administrator and add your self to that.

As you can see below, I do have project administrator privileges. When I look at the board settings, I don't see anything about permissions on the board for that project.
Just to triple check.... Could this be related to the project being a team project as opposed to a company project?
Thanks,

Yes it is possible in Team Managed project to clear the done issues.
Just go to you team managed project> Board> Done Column.
Click on 3 dot on you done column. Choose clear done issue option.
I have attached screenshot for your reference.
