How do I remove the gray-font prompts in a custom field in a transition?

In my paragraph text field (or whatever it's known as), there are numerous gray-font prompts that appear in my transition form.  Clearing the field in a previous transition post action doesn't remove them.

I could use a field not empty validator on an empty field.

The field was evidently created by someone else and the text was added to the default.  I should create my own field and name it something else, but for now, in the Sandbox, I deleted the default text.
