My team is getting ready to move the next-gen project board. Currently there are links to our Jira tasks in other systems (e.g., github) and we are trying to preserve those links.
Our thinking is that we will move everything to the new board, delete the previous board and then rename the new board using the exact same characters.
Has anyone had experience with this? What are the flaws in our thinking? Will this actually work?
As far as I am aware there is no way to move a traditional jira project to the next gen projet type.
Correct. We are moving issues from a traditional project to a next gen project type.
As you might imagine, we have other documentation that links to specific Jira issues. We cannot keep the same naming convention while both projects are live. So our plan was to move the issues, then delete the previous project and rename the new one. Do you think that will help us keep our links?
