Background: I have 2 projects and 2 user groups.

Goal: Restrict a user's access to only 1 project

Issue: I've configured the permission settings and added the permission scheme to the project. However, JIRA is granting the opposite permissions (for example, I want the user to work on project A, but when I assign project A to permissions scheme, the user has access to project B.

Hi @Todd Kovalsky,

Restricting permission for User X  on Project B is equal important along with enabling permission to user X on Project A .

If you want to enable permission to User X only on Project A, you have restrict / remove permission to user X for all other projects (B,C,D..)

I also had some similar problems. I just changed to "next-gen" projects and the permission worked correctly. So, my suggestion should be change the type of the project.
