We would like to create a screen and once a user fills the fields in the screen and assigns it to someone, these fields should be mapped based on a rule to an additional screen of the assignee (rule looks like: if attribute x of screen 1 has value a, then assign to attribute y of screen 2 value b).
To be more precise I have created an input screen, which contains several fields. Any user can fill out the input screen and assign it to someone. So far so good. Now I just want to map the values in the fields of the input screen, i.e. the user fills in some input values and assigns them and the assignee receives the input screen but with the mapped values instead.
Through an add-on it is possible to copy data from one field to another as part of a post-function. I believe that this is available in the JIRA Misc Utilities add-on. However, you can't change the values, just copy them. For that you may need something like Script Runner, but I don't know the full capabilities of that add-on.
Hi Jack, did you find a way to map fields? I'm looking to do the same, specifically want to map the JIRA Version fields "Start Date" and "Release Date" to custom fields I created in JIRA.

Actually the question is a bit confusing. Am not able to get what u mean by Screen 1 and Screen 2. You can automatically assign to using post funtions in Jira workflows. But I have no clue whether is this what you mean by your question.
