Hi All
we are using Jira DC version and the issues around 1,50,000. currently the total allocated space for shared-home is 30 GB in that for attachements it goes for 15 GB and the remaing for temp and back up files. I feel the total size is very less. so what is the usual size required for shared-home based on the issues
Hi @Surender Kannemoni ,
basically, it depends from your backup policy. If you have a automatic backup, my suggestion is to manage a script that will delete old backups after a while.
You can't foresee how many attachments will be put on your JIRA but you can verify your attachment limit and, based on that, you can put in place an estimation.
BTW, 150.000 issues are a low number for a DC instance sio 30GB could be enough.
Take a look to the following article provided by Atlassian https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/jira-server-sizing-guide-975033809.html
Hope this helps,
Fabio

@Yogesh Mude your pointer is spot on.
@Surender Kannemoni - One more thing to consider:
Atlassian recommends that you do a database backup instead of the XML backup - reference - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/automating-jira-application-backups-938847675.html
Which would mean your DB backup data is elsewhere from a storage perspective.
Curious what database are you using?
Thank you
Vish
