Hi
I was just wondering for those that have production environments. What have you done about backing up the attachment folder for JIRA and Confluence?
Thanks
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
I recommend to take a full backup of the attachments whenever you perform a full backup of the database. The reason is that the pointers to the attachments are inside the database, while the files are in the home folder of the app. So, it wouldn't make sense to perform a backup of the database without the attachments and vice verse, otherwise you would have orphaned attachments in one side.
Cheers,
Rodrigo

We back it up twice daily, since on our install, the index and attachment folders are sub-folders of the home directory.
Are you concerned about the size of the backups? We have about 300 users, 50,000 issues, and the attachments folder is about 6Gb.
