How to Change Atlassian Cloud Site URL (e.g., project123.atlassian.net → Newproject.atlassian.net)?

Hi Atlassian Community,

I need to change my Atlassian Cloud site URL from oldproject.atlassian.net to newproject.atlassian.net. I understand that Atlassian does not provide a direct way to rename the site URL, but I’d like to explore possible solutions.

1. Is there any way Atlassian Support can assist in renaming the URL in special cases?
2. If not, what is the best way to migrate all Jira and Confluence data to a new instance with the desired URL?
3. What are the key things to consider when moving integrations, automations, and linked repositories?

Any guidance or best practices from those who have done this before would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the community!

You can update your instance URL by navigating to:
Admin Console → Products → Product URLs → Select "Update URL" for the respective site.

Please note that the URL can only be changed up to 3 times per instance.

Yes this is possible, juts only not if you are using a free tier instance.

Only paid subscriptions are offered this feature.
