Hello everyone,
I am currently facing an issue with the emails sent by Jira Email this issue. The subject line of these emails automatically includes the name of the entire Jira instance. Here is an example of my current email subject template:
#set($mailSubject = "Testitle_lorem_ipsum") $mailSubject
But when someone receives the email the name of my Jira automatically is included and it looks like this:
Subject: TESTJIRA Testtilte_lorem_ipsum
So how can I remove the TESTJIRA in front of my subject?
I am using an email html template with a few custom fields if that helps.
Hi Hannes,
I have great news! It's super easy to remove the prefix "TESTJIRA" from your subject. Just navigate to your Outgoing Mail Connection settings and remove the prefix here: https://docs.meta-inf.hu/email-this-issue/v/email-this-issue-for-jira-server-data-center/documentation/administration/outgoing-mail-connections
Note that if you're still using Jira's built-in outgoing mail connections, you will not be able to remove the prefix because Jira does not allow for it. In this case, feel free to switch to using Email This Issue's connections where you have the flexibility to do so. :)
Cheers,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and the great news! I didn't realize there was a difference between Jira's built-in outgoing mail connections and Email This Issue's connections.
I appreciate your help, thanks!
