Hi Team,

I am looking for guidance on retrieving issues that were deleted from the Jira board with key values. Is there any way to recover deleted issues, especially while retaining their original key values in Xray?

Thanks.

Hi @Aiswarya Ayyapan

Recovering or tracking deleted issues in Jira is impossible if you don't have a backup.

The following actions can help you avoid losing deleted assignments in the future:

- Limit access to delete issues to admins only; disable it for regular users.

Back up your projects.

- Get the app from the Atlassian MarketplaceThe app developed by my team (Issue History for Jira) helps to track and restore deleted issues. However, storing deleted issues is started only after activating the option in the add-on.

Hi @Aiswarya Ayyapan and welcome to the Community!

It very much depends on what you mean by "deleted from the board". Issues disappear automatically from a board when they get completed, typically after two weeks. In this case, they are not deleted, but just hidden from the board view. You can always search for such issues from filters > search issues and select criteria in the basic search or create JQL filters in advanced view.

However, if the issues are really deleted, they are gone from Jira and you will no longer be able to find them.

Hope this helps!
