How to add an existing jira studio user to an existing studio instance that is already hooked up to goolge

I have user with credentials from our google domain. I want to add an already existing external (jira studio) user so I can link the two together. But it seems I can only add new external users, not existing external users.

Hey memelet,

You can link Google Apps and Studio usernames - assuming that the username is the same. Check out these instructions:

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRASTUDIO/Managing+Username+Conflicts

(You will have to have admin rights though)

Yes, I saw that page. But the user I want to link is not already associated with the jira studio instance. I can't add it, because it already exists. Its just not associated with my domain.

Hi Memelet,

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean. Could you provide an example to talk us through what you're hoping to do?

Sure.

We have our mydomain.jira.com.

On that instance I have barry@mydomain user (a google domain account).

I have a jira studio login on a different email.

If I login with the jira studio user, once logged it appears as if I had logged in with my google domain. I see the same stuff and my profile shows my google domain emaikl address, not my jira studio email address.

I want to use the Atlassian Connector plugin for jira. It does not auth with my google domain.

The jira studio creds do successfully auth in atlassian connector, but I don't have full privileges (ie, can't download projects etc.)

So I wanted to try to link my jira studio account with my google domain account.

google domain account is: barry@mydomain.com and is user 'barry' in jira studio

jira studio account is: barry@otherdomain.com and is user 'barry' in jira studio

At one point I had a different jira studio account linked into our jira studio instance (ie, memelet@otherdomain.com). I deleted that account from our jira studio instance because the docs said that they had to have the same username to be linked.

So now I have this jira studio account (barry@otherdomain.com) and I want to add to our jira studio instance but I cannot find a way to do that.

Of course I don't know if this is going to help with atlassian connector. If not, then I don't really need any of this. But since my memelet@otherdomain was in our jira studio at one point (don't know how though) I expected that I should be able to add barry@otherdomain. But again, I don't see how.

Hope this makes a bit more sense. And thanks!
