We want to assign the Epic representing a business requirement for several employees, We ask to check their capacity at planning stage. We identified Advanced Road map as an add on for capacity management. We want to manage capacity at the employee level and not at the team level. We thought to implement the AR team entity as a single employee or team member for that reason.

In addition each employee has its unique profession: i.e. designer, developer, QA. We want to manage capacity for each profession too.

I found a way to assign team to the Epic, is there other way to assign more than one employee to the Epic or Can we assign more than one team to the Epic for capacity planning ?

Hi @Michal Shlomy

Yes, you are right. Advanced Roadmaps allows you to see the overall team's capacity. There is no availability to check individual capacity.

If you consider using a plugin I would suggest ActivityTimeline. ActivityTimeline provides resource planning and availability on a timeline view. You can track tasks progress, workload, and availability for each employee taking into consideration the part-time, full-time, or even different work schemes for users, and holidays. Workload or availability could be calculated for individuals or teams on the same view.

There is an ability to plan your work with bookings and placeholders.

The additional modules provide numerous reports including timesheets report and capacity report.

To track capacity you can create groups by positions. In ActivityTimeline you can fill in positions and skills for all users.

To assign an Epic (or other types of issues) you can use Split Issues in ActivityTimeline.

Hope our suggestions could help you.

If you have any additional requirements please feel free to ask me. We can provide a demo session for you if needed.

Best, Nataliya, ActivityTimeline Team

Hi @Michal Shlomy

You can't do that at individual level using Advanced Roadmaps also there is no more the option to manage the skills, it was a feature in the old version of Advanced Roadmaps called Portfolio but not anymore.

Take a look at Tempo Planner app instead.

I hope it helps,

Ravi

Hi @Michal Shlomy

As others have mentioned there isn't a native solution, but if you are open to 3rd party solutions we have solved for this at minware.

Our Predictive Roadmap can be sorted by Author. We also automatically show dependencies and weigh weekends to help make your plan as reliable as possible.
