How to associate one project with multiple issue type schemes?

Latika Sharma January 24, 2025

Hi,

I am trying to associate SJHH-Jira project to multiple issue type screen schemes but not able to do so.

I have created separate issue type screens and associate them with their respective screen scheme but when i am trying to associate the same project its not happening.

Can someone help me to fix this?

Hello @Latika Sharma ,

Good day!

In Jira Cloud, a project can only be associated with one issue type scheme at a time. If you need different sets of issue types, you can create multiple schemes and switch them, but you can't have multiple active issue type schemes on a single project at once.

Thank you!

Hi @Latika Sharma

I wanted to clarify that the "Issue Type Scheme" and "Issue Type Screen Scheme" are two distinct configuration schemas, and each project can only have one of each.

If you wish to add multiple issue types to your project, you'll need to create a new "Issue Type Scheme" and include all the required issue types in that scheme. You can refer to the following articles for more details:

If you need guidance on creating screens, screen schemes, and issue type screen schemes, please refer to these articles:

Best regards,
Gaurav
