How to change username?

Hi, We have users that want to integrate UpWork with JIRA. The issue they are having, is logging into JIRA (or integrating) from UpWork. 

JIRA usernames are firstname.surname but in UpWork they are firstname_surname.

There is no way to change them in UpWork and it seems troublesome to do it in JIRA.

Is there anyway that this can be done? We use SSO via GSuite. I tried creating an Alias in Google Admin firstname_surname, but JIRA will not see aliases.

Is there anything anyone can suggest or would the better option be to submit jobs from JIRA into UpWork?

Hi James,

I'm really sorry to say, but it's not possible to change usernames in Jira Cloud, and now the usernames are also being deprecated and not possible to view on User management. The only workaround could be changing the usernames in the database, but it is a Restricted Function in Jira Cloud.
