Hi everyone.
I'm new to JIRA project management tool, and not able to find a way to count the number of times the tickets have been moved to specific status for given Sprint.
To be precise, I need tickets that have been reopened(i.e. moved to "In Progress" status) more than twice for given Sprint.
Please share existing link in case this a duplicate question.
Hi @Syed Mazher Husain 👋
Welcome to the community!
You can do it with Time in Status. Just simply:
project = "project name" and key = issue key and sprint = 'sprint name'
for example: project = "SLA & CT Line" and Sprint = 'SLA / CT Sprint 21'
That is all 🎉
Also you can select Time in Status report to easily get Issue age, Cycle Time, Lead time, Time in each status
Add-on has 30-day free trial, free up to the 10 users and developed by my team.
You can also book a live demo - we'll show you the application inside out and answer all your questions.
I hope you find this helpful 🚀

As suggested in the other threads as well, you can use Jira rest API's to build your own custom solution or an app can help to get this data. If you are open to try out mktplace app for this need, take a look at
The app has numerous reports for time in status use cases. One of them is the Status Transition count as shown below.
The app is free for 10 users. Do try it out.

Jira doesn't have a built-in solution for the report you mentioned. If you prefer using a marketplace app, you can try Status Time Reports app developed by our team. It mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status.
Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app. To get a report of how many times the status of each issue is changed, you can have a look at Status Count And Entry Dates report. Entry date(see In Development, Ready for Testing, In Testing, In Development columns.) is status transition date and status count(see #In Development, #Ready for Testing, #In Testing, #In Development columns) is how many times an issue is entered to this status.
App Features:
For further details, you can have a look at Status Time Reports How to Videos.
If you are looking for a completely free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Reports Free.
If you have any questions, feel free to schedule a demo with us.
Hope it helps.

As you've surely noticed by now, this is an area in which a number of Marketplace apps operate. You may already know that you can trial any Marketplace app for free for 1 month; so if an app is an option for you, I recommend trying out a few and seeing which one works best for you and your team!
To provide a concrete recommendation: I really think you'd like the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called history columns that aren’t natively available, including number of transitions to [status], number of transitions between [status] and [status], and many, many more.
This is how it looks in action:
As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by your history columns; you can also use them across JXL's advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Hello @Syed Mazher Husain & @john smith ,
Welcome to the community!
I would like to introduce you to a very advanced tool with which you can easily count the number of times the tickets have been moved to specific status for given Sprint. Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira ,the oldest and leading "Time in Status" app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is developed by my team at OBSS, it is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.
Timepiece mainly has several types of time reports (showing how much time each issue spent on each status, assignee, or group) but the app also has Status Count and Transition Count reports. These reports show how many times each status and each transition was used by each issue.
In addition to this, you can easily use your predefined sprints as filter type and you can create reports calculated specially for your sprints.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.
Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to explore how our JIRA add-on can revolutionize your metrics measurement process. Enjoy a 30-day free trial to experience the full range of features.
If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.
Hope it helps,
Gizem
