I have created a new issue type for a project in JIRA by name "Question".

How to create a dedicated Issue Layout for this new Issue Type?

Hello @Shefali Tayade

What you are looking for is to create screens, screen schemes and issue type screen schemes.

Screens

  • Navigate to Settings > Issues > Screens
  • Copy some of the screens (best practice) and then remove the fields and also rename the screen so it has the name of your issue type:  example - PROJ: Question Issue Type Screen (there are three types of screens: create , edit , view screen) - each issue type can have all of three of these screens
  • Adjust the fields that you want to use for your Question issue type
  • Go to Settings > Issues > Screen Schemes
  • Copy a screen scheme then rename it containing the name of your issue type in it

Screen Schemes

  • Navigate to your created screen and associate the issue operations (create, edit , view - this depends which ones do you need)
  • Each operation can be associated with different screens - link your newly created screen with the screen scheme

Note: For create operation have one screen and for view/edit operations have a second screen.

Issue Type Screen Scheme

  • Configure your issue screen scheme for the project you are on currently
  • Select your issue type
  • Select the screen scheme that you have previously created
