How to create a post function to create issue after a transition to a new status in Jira Cloud

Hi Guyz,

I want to create a post function to create an issue. 

Usercase: automatically creates a task in another project.

Unfortunately in Jira cloud I am not able to see the option to create an issue in post function.

If its possible to create script, how do I do that. I am beginner, but if you can give me some direction I can pick it up and try that.

Help :) and thanks in advance

PS: I dont want to use Script runner (Just for this task, I cant pay for 400+ users)

You can achieve this through automation for Jira. Set a rule which triggers when the issue is transitioned from one state to another and set the action to create a new issue in your desired project. This app is now being made native for Jira and Jira service desk. You probably will be able to find it under your project settings.
