How to create a project burn down chart?

Can someone explain how to create a simple project burn down chart?

We don't use sprints, so using the scrum burn down didn't seem to work. Also the Scrum burn down applies to only one sprint, I want to see it for the entire project. 

If it's possible using sprints I have no issue with that, but then require to create sprints in the past to have the charts look correct as I have projects that are half completed.

Hi ashish, I have this plugin installed. I will try to configure it to create a burn down. I'm not that familiar with it right now.

Do you know if there is an example configuration for it somewhere?
