How to create a tracker with employee task & time for each task for each day?

VIGRAT March 8, 2025

Hello All,

Can someone help/suggest? I am trying to build something for my team.

Where an epic could be a resource and he tasks could be date/day in which we will gather the details of the tasks and the number of hours/mins was spent on each task.

1. Epic Resource 1

           Day 1 - Task 1

                     - Task 2

                     - Task 3

            Day 2 - Task 1

                      - Task 2

                      - Task 3

2. Epic Resource 2

            Day 1 - Task 1

                      - Task 2

                      - Task 3

Hi @VIGRAT and welcome,

why do you need a task per day basis? You can have structure proposed (Epic->Tasks) and each user can log time on them (logwork has date/description where users can enter details of their work).

Thank you, Fabio, for your response. But can you please elaborate?

Also I was looking for something in which each user can log time for multiple tasks for the same day

Hi @VIGRAT

Welcome to the community !!

If you would be interested in a mktplace app , take a look at

Worklogs Time Tracking & Timesheets

The app allows to enter time for multiple issues / multiple days from a single screen.

Whats more it comes with detailed worklog reporting to track where time is being spent by your team.

Hi @VIGRAT ,

If you are open to using a third party application, the timesheet report view may meet your needs. For this, I recommend WorklogPro, a time tracking application. When you group by parent issue in timesheet, you can see the worklogs of the tasks belonging to the epic issue by day and view the details of these total worklogs by clicking on each cell.

Hi @VIGRAT,

Welcome to the Atlassian community! If you're open to considering a third-party app, check out 7pace Timetracker for Jira

7pace is built seamlessly into your workflow so it will enable you/your team to track time on any existing Epics or or issue types and provides a breakdown of time tracked by different team members, including the day, time, total hours tracked to an issue, and more time tracking insights.

Team members can log time on multiple tasks each day, log time for different timeframes on the same task, etc. It's very flexible!

Team members can also use calendar views or a timesheet to track time quickly and flexibly outside of issues. There are some great features that give team members more insights on how much time they've logged, and help them save time when logging reptitive tasks (copy/paste feature to duplicate work).

Managers have access to all tracked time, can track on behalf of team members and can see all logged time in one place (no more context switching). You can easily create and save reports to view tracked time by Epic with breakdowns by person, task, team, or any custom fields you want to set up (like tracking activity type or billable time if it applies to you).
