How to create multiple teams on one project

We run a single project with a single backlog (Kanban).

We want to split the current large team into two smaller teams, each will run its own sprint from the shared backlog.

How do we create the smaller teams - I cannot find how to do that.

Hi Craig - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

We typically use components to do that. Or a custom field with values for each Team Name. Then you can have one project, but different boards based on filters created using the values of the component or the custom field.

A good option would be to use labels or custom fields to define what team works on what issue -> then create separate kanban boards based on a filter that will ensure this split
