How to create read only user in JIRA cloud ?

I have seen many posts on creating read only JIRA but I believe they are either JIRA server or older version. In all of them I could see this "jira-user" which I cant see in the cloud version. 

As per notes seen I have ,

1. Created a group called "read-only-users" from Settings > User Management > Groups 

2.  In Settings > Issues > Permission Scheme , in this I edited "Browse Projects" and I have added the group "read-only-users". 

3.  Settings > User Management > Users, Invite Users - provided the email address with Role: "Basic-Can access the products you specify only." Product Access: Jira Software and Group membership : read-only-users.

Although when I login with that user from another laptop , I am able to edit the descriptions and many other fields. How do I restrict this user from editing any fields ?

What restrictions do you have in the Permission Scheme for "Edit Issues"?

Yes, this solved my problem. 

I edited the permission scheme and removed the permission for Edit Issues/Create Issues etc to remove "Any logged in user" and now the user cannot update anything.

Are you experiencing different edit permissions for the same user in the same project when you log in with two different laptops?

Yes, I had gone through this article also and followed the steps but when I login the user can still edit the description and other fields. 

Is there a way to find out, if there is anywhere else this user is getting this permission? From the article it looks like user can get permissions only from the group and the role so not sure why the user can still edit.

And no, I dont see any issue or different permissions for the same user.

Can you check with the Permission helper (JIRA Settings-> System-> Permission helper)?

You should be able to specify the user as well as the issue number and the permission, and the helper should give you the details on why you may or not may have the permission:

It says that account has Edit issues permission but from where  ? 

How do I stop it ?
