How to delete an issue

We never delete, it opens up all kinds of questions and problems later. The forum is full of people wanting to get issues back. We close them with a resolution of Delete, Opened in Error, or something similar. JIRA doesn't reuse the number so you end up with someone eventually asking 'what happened to issue 12345'

Click "delete" in the options.

That assumes you have the delete permission for the project.  I strongly recommend NOT granting delete to most people because it really does mean it - the issue is deleted and to get it back, you're into restoring backups.
