How to delete backlog issue?

Why can't I just simply delete things on Jira as the product owner? What is up with this user experience. How do I delete a story with subtasks attached to it in backlog and how do I simply remove an attachment?

In my opinion it's really not good practice to delete issues.  They should be resolved with a resolution of "Cancelled", "Won't Do" or something like that.  

But as already mentioned, if you really want to delete them forever then you need the Delete Issues permission to do this.

If you have permission delete issue and delete the story all of its subtasks with their attachment will be removed.
