How to detect usage of installed gadgets?

We're currently looking at upgrading to a new version of Jira, however there's a number of gadget add-ons provided by Atlassian Labs that haven't been upgraded for 8.2.1. I'm wondering if there's a way to detect the usage of gadgets (maybe via a database query) to see the impact of disabling the gadgets without waiting on end users to report. Is there anything built in to Jira that helps us accomplish something like this for specific gadget usage in dashboards?
