Hi @Sean Duffy

Welcome to the community !!

If you would be interested in a mktplace app for this requirement, you can try out

Time in Status Reports

With this app you generate time in each workflow status for multiple issues with multiple filter and grouping options. You can also extract trends analysis and add that as a dashboard gadget too.

The app shows Avg Time in Status per date range report for your specific requirement. Do try it out.

More details here.

Disclaimer : I am part of the app team for this add-on

Hi @Sean Duffy   👋

Welcome to the Community!

If you consider installing third-party add-ons, option for you can be Time in Status. You can get various real time reports with add-on. To get average days aging was on a give date just

  1. Choose Average Time Report
  2. Sort by Project (Assignee, JQL etc)
  3. Filter issues based on your preferred time (including issues created before add-on installation)
  4. Access your report through Grid View

Hello @Sean Duffy ,

Welcome to the community!

For your need I can recommend a marketplace app. Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira , the oldest and the most comprehensive "Time in Status" app in Atlassian Marketplace, which is built by my team at OBSS. It is available for both Jira Cloud, and Data Center.

Timepiece mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assigneeYou can combine the time for multiple statuses to get metrics like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.

To create your report

1) Select your JQL query for open issues in your project as the filter and create a Duration Between Statuses report.

2) Define Issue Age from the metrics

3) Select Average from the report options and group the issues by their creation year, month and day.

4) Your report is done!

The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.

Timepiece reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs.

Visit Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira to experience the full range of features.

If you wish, you can also schedule a live demo. We will provide a comprehensive overview of the application and address any inquiries you may have.

Hope it helps,

Gizem

Hi @Sean Duffy -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

By "average days aging", I assume you mean: for all unresolved issues on date X, what is the average number of total days since issue creation.

There is a built-in dashboard gadget called Average Age Chart which can provide a yearly grouping, but it does it for the first day of the year, not for a specific calendar day: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-dashboard-gadgets/

If you need the average for a specific date, please investigate building your own gadget or check the Atlassian Marketplace for other reporting options: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/

Kind regards,
Bill
