How to filter the view in the new Jira dashboard?

Deleted user November 14, 2018

Hey there,

On the new dashboard, once a task is finished it still appears on the backlog. How could I filter the view?

Cheers,

Julie

Hi  @[deleted],

I guess you are using the next-gen Software project, once a task is finished it still appears on the backlog. So you want to hide the completed task like scrum board?

Enable sprints for your next-gen Software project may achieve the effect you want.

Hi, Julie!

I'd like to understand the view that you are actually referring to on JIRA Cloud. Can you please confirm if you are using the default System Dashboard or a customized a new Dashboard with gadgets? If you are using a customized dashboard, can you please confirm specifically what gadget you are using to view the backlog?

That will give me a better idea on why you are seeing finished task on your backlog, which could be due to the JQL configured for the gadget / the gadget is not refreshed to pull the latest information on the dashboard.

Please keep me posted soon. Thanks.

Hey Ahmad,

Thanks for your reply! Yes using JIRA Cloud, with the new default system dashboard.

Not using any gadget just yet and starting this new board from scratch.

Hope that helps.

Hi, Julie.

I noticed that Ollie has confirmed on the fact that you are using the next-gen software project and assisted you with the solution, which involves the enablement of sprints. Can I confirm with you that Ollie's suggestion helped?
