How to get last <custom attribute> value from insight on jira dashboard

Hello.

We have lot of computers catalogued in insight. I often need to know last assigned hostname.

I can find it by insight search:

"Hostname"  IS NOT EMPTY ORDER BY "Created" DESC

Is there any way to crate gadget/widget for jira dashboard to display the hostname of the first search result?

Hi Janusz.

       Although we do not have such a Gadget at the moment, you can find the Two dimensional Gadgets helpful, especially if you use sequential Host Names (e.g. HOST001, HOST002 etc).

Although the Gadget does not Sort by Date Attributes, you can select the X Axis to be the Created attribute, and the Y Axis - Name, Sort Direction: Descending.

This will list ALL Hostnames in the Gadget, ordered by the Name, so the last one (alphabetic order) will be the top one.

We are currently working on a new Reporting engine in Insight, which will allow us to improve Reports and Gadgets. Although we cannot share more details here, we expect this to be released within Q1 2019 - if all continues to go well :)
