Please go to board filter to see the reason. I guess the cards/issues are ordered by Rank, but not created date. So you could change there.
However, it's more recommended to use the default Rank because in both Backlog and Board, we need to drag and drop cards to adjust their priorities.

How can I make the cards/issues on the board ordered by their creation date? I created a filter for myself, but I still didn't figure out how to apply that to the board or for everyone in my company.

I’ve created this filter, but I can only see the filtered list when I go to issues and click the filter. The general board still looks the same, and it doesn’t update to reflect the order by the created date.
