Dear all,

We have different security group which is used to give access to users in that group only to the issue they are in concerned and hide other issues of other.

But we have the request to get a group named READ_USERS for instance and all the users from that group will get only Browse permission and not be able to modify any issue, juste view.

That we work as long as users from that group does not belongs to other groups with more elevate permission..

What is the way to give correctly this VIEW only to all issue for the group ?

Thanks for help

regards

You will need to go through every permission scheme and make sure your READ_USERS group is included in the "Browse project" permission, and then check that the members do not get any other permissions because they are in other groups, or roles in the project.

This is what I thought yes.

So if user belongs to other groups with elevate permission there is no way to get them read access to all issue right ?

Yes, there is a way - revise all your permission schemes to include their access.

Hi,

You may want to create a Project Role as "Security" and assign the Browse Project permission. This role is attache to the "security" group where users will be a member of.

If you add this Role to any Project that users want to view.

If you want to further lockdown then Issue Security Level can be introduced for issue level security.

Sanmat

Dear @Sanmat Jhanjhari thanks for your reply.

Could you please clarify some points :

1 What do you mean by Project Role as "Security" , I guess "Security is the name of the Role to which I assign the Browse permssion , correct ?

2- What do you mean by "This role is attached to the "security" group ?

Apologies. I misread and thought you also want To manage the users along with the Group membership.

Nic’s solution is perfect. Thanks Nic
