I encounter the situation that the client has it's own hosted JIRA with the master product backlog and that my internal scrum team uses it's own JIRA sprint backlog.

Has anyone a recommended practise how to handle this situation?

Thanks

Hi @Marco Sala,

I have some experience with this situation.

I think it depends on what is important to you as a company.  Do you want to have your users work on their instance, thus possibly not keeping the data for future reference? Then you can add your users to their instance if they have the bandwidth.

Another option since your client might have less users interested in this particular project is using your instance and moving them over with their issues.  You can export the issues from their instance into yours, then set them up with accounts, and they can groom the backlog in your Jira.  This way you retain your data for future reference and keep your developers at home.

Both ways have some pros and cons and ultimately I think it's up to you and your client to decide what's best.
