Hi All,

I want to reach out to  team regarding that we are moving our JIRA server to JIRA cloud there is a migration is planned in upfront. But here  the issue is with the JIRA cloud migration assistant.

We are just doing the trail migration by moving some sample projects and dummy users from our JIRA server to JIRA cloud. Before doing this process we need to have install the JIRA cloud migration assistant in our JIRA server. But our bad luck we can’t able to download it.

We are using the JIRA server 8.13.0 version.  Please do suggest on this issue why we can’t able to download the JIRA cloud migration assistant into our Environment. Once this JIRA cloud migration assistant to be installed it is easy for us to do the smooth migration from (Server-To-Cloud).

Suspected resolution : We need to update our JIRA server, Please do suggest and help to upgrade our JIRA server to latest

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nishal,

The Jira Cloud Migration Assistant may have specific system requirements and compatibility constraints. To install the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant for Jira Server version 8.13.0, you can follow these general steps:

  1. Review Compatibility: First, review the official Atlassian documentation to confirm whether Jira Server version 8.13.0 is compatible with the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant.
  2. Access Atlassian Marketplace: Visit the Atlassian Marketplace and search for "Jira Cloud Migration Assistant."
  3. Install the Add-On: Click on the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant add-on. If it's compatible with your version of Jira Server, you should be able to install it directly from the marketplace.

If this doesn't work, you can try the following alternative approach:

  1. Disable the Existing Pre-installed JCMA: Stop Jira and disable the existing pre-installed Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA).
  2. Download the JAR File: Download the JAR file of the latest compatible version of JCMA for Jira Server from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  3. Install JCMA JAR File: Copy and paste the JCMA JAR file into the Jira home directory under $Your_Jira_Home/plugins/installed-plugins/ with the appropriate permissions.
  4. Restart Jira: After completing the installation, restart Jira, and check if the new version of JCMA is functioning properly.

Note: Please ensure that you test this solution in a testing or staging environment before implementing it in a production environment. This will help you identify any potential issues or conflicts before making changes to your live system.

Regards,
Bhushan
