When working in Sprints and the estimation of the user stories is done in story points and those user stories are partitioned in subtask (representing development in diferent systems) how do I know if in the sprint is alocated the team full capacity, since the story points indicate the user story estimate and not the individual subtasks?

We use JIRA 7.11 server version.

We put the SP estimates at issue level (i.e. never at sub-task level).

Any sub-tasks (i.e. work which can be done in parallel) need to be completed in the same sprint as the parent issue.

Doing this means if you sum the SPs for all the issues (with or without sub-tasks), this is the total SP budget for the sprint.

Hi Troy, thank you for taking time to answer to my question.

I do understand what you have mentioned but in the first ou second sprints is very difficult for a team to know when the Sprint is full (no more user stories should be added).

How do you control that capacity?
