How to limit Project Roles available on a project?

I have quite a few different Project Roles defined in "System -> Project Roles"(/secure/project/ViewProjectRoles.jspa). This all makes sense for certain use cases.

However, as the system-based Project Roles list keeps growing, I noticed that this might be overwhelming for Project-Level administrators who add new people into their projects.

Question

Is there a way to limit which Project Roles are selectable for each project?

Unfortunately, it might not be possible at the moment to restrict project roles per project (no native feature), as it is at System level and no schemas are there for roles.
