How to look for open user stories under a closed feature?

Hi community! I am wondering if there is a way in Jira to look for open stories under closed features? Or open features under closed epics? Based on my research I have found there is not a way without plug-ins, and if so which plug-ins would be able to help me with this solution? I was also thinking there might be a way with exporting the JQL results in an Excel spreadsheet and joining the misalignment items that way? Please let me know. Thanks!

There are some apps/plugins (JQL Search Extensions for Jira; JQL Booster Pack and ScriptRunner) detailed in these posts that may help you out. 

Also, you can export JQL results in an Excel spreadsheet.
