How to make a field in Jira issue mandatory ?

I need to make due date field in the create issue mandatory

Welcome to the community!!

In order to make any field mandatory, there are 2 options:

Make the field required from the Field Configuration
Use the workflow validators for the transition. This is natively not possible on the Server/ DC but is available on Cloud. There are plug-ins which provide this functionality for server/ DC

In order to make a field mandatory on creation, you need to setup the related Field Configuration associated to your project/issue type.
