I have set up a new kanban project with mostly default settings. I enabled the timeline as well as the kanban backlog, then created a number of issues. I also added one status for "backlog" which is unmapped. Finally, I added all issues to a release version.

The board configuration shows that many issues are in "to do" as expected, but the board appears empty. Can anyone help me understand what settings I need to tweak so the board can see my issues?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

What happens if you turn the backlog option off?

Also, does it change if you map "backlog" into the to-do column?

Hello @Will Schultz

Welcome to the community

What does the Statuses for  Task, Epic and Subtask Manage workflow under the To Do column  mean?

Did you try creating all kinds of issues like Story, Bugs, Task and none appeared in the board?

What is the default status in your workflow when you first create the ticket?

Your issue is strange. The configuration is correct.

Can you please share more information?

Lastly, on the column configuration, what are the unmapped statuses on the right most corner?
