How to make someone a System Administer besides the person who signed up for JIRA?

My boss signed up for JIRA which makes him the System Admin, but he wants me to have the same amount of control as him. How is that possible?

Your boss is in a group, probably a default one like "jira administrators". He needs to add you to that group in the user maintenance section.

He'll need to log in to JIRA and assign you to the "jira administrators" group using the following https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Users#ManagingUsers-Assigningausertoagroup
