We have excel sheet with a project plan based on classic WBS, where for each item there is an estimate for individual role (analysis, development, test).
We want to manage this plan in Jira and I'm trying to find out how to do it. I would like to use Jira time tracking to compare plan to reality so I need record estimates by roles, add them up and enter them to original estimate. I'm thinking about three custom fields and some automation. Any other idea?
If you consider using a plugin I would suggest ActivityTimeline. ActivityTimeline provides resource planning and availability on a timeline view.
You can track tasks progress, workload, and availability for each employee taking into consideration the part-time, full-time, or even different work schemes for users, and holidays.
Workload or availability could be calculated for individuals or teams on the same view. And you can create the work schedule and set the number of hours (or story points) for team members.
The additional modules provide numerous reports including Planned vs Actual report.
If you have any additional requirements please feel free to ask me. We can provide a demo session for you if needed.
