I have someone in my company who has 2 emails addresses (2 accounts). The first one is @docubase.com, from which all tickets are attached. And a new one @tessi.com but he doesn't see anymore all his work. How can I do to merge these 2 accounts to keep only the @tessi.com with all his work (tickets)

Hi @serge_sokolowski_tessi_fr

In order to merge the accounts, I would do the following:

  1. Delete the new account @tessi.com (if there is a footprint in Jira using this account then as above, update the affected issues to use the @docubase.com account)
  2. Once the new account is gone, update the existing user account @docubase.com, with the new email address @tessi.com (I'm assuming you're using the email as the username?)

Then user can then login with his new details and they'll have all there historical data available to them.

One problem you may find is if the user has commented using the new account. Comments can't be changed (Like assignee or Reporter). They can only be deleted.

Regards,

Gary

I would manually change all issues to reflect the new user, at least as much as possible.

  1. run a filter to find a. Issues Assignned to the old ussr
  2. bulk edit all issues and change the Assignee
  3. repeat for: reported by
  4. deactivate the old user
