Hi Team
We have two jira environments. One is in Jira 4.1 and the other is in Jira 5.2
Now, the requirement is: we need to migrate few projects from Jira4 to the jira5 instance.
The jira 5 environment is already setup and we have projects in production. So the migration should not delete/disturb any existing projects in the jira5 instance.
Upgrading the existing jira 4 instance to jira 5 version is not what we want as many projects currently in Jira 4 wants to remain in Jira 4 itself.
Please help me with the recommended approach for our scenario.
Thanks and regards,
Fazila
You can perform the import, with few extra steps as per this guide:
You can't.
Jira project import only works on export files that were created from the same version. So you need to take a copy of the 4.1 data, and import it into a 5.2 system, then export from there, and give that export file to your live Jira 5.2 to read for individual projects.
Of course, there are other options - CSV will get you a simple issue list, but no history, etc. Jelly scripting might do the trick and so-on, but these are user intensive and won't get you an exact copy.
