I would like to know what is the best practice to move from one site to another:

I have on the site should be closed:

  • Team manage project that I should transfer to Company manage project
  • Company manages project with X-RAY that should be moving into the new Company manage project [The one that replaced the Team manage project]
  • The users are currently on an outside domain and should be move to their new domain users

I need to move the new projects with the 'new users' to my 'other' cloud instance.

From what I saw, The steps should be like that:

1. Create on 'OLD' instance a new Company manage project

2. Move all the issues from 'OLD' Team manage project to the new Company Manage project

3. Move all the issues from X-RAY to the new Company Manage project

4. Backup site

5. Install apps in the new site like as in the 'old' site

6. Migration between sites [how to do so? in the past there was 'Migrate cloud site' but I can't find it]

Hi @Lior Nesher

Welcome to the community,If you want to migrate cloud to cloud the best way i can suggest Atlassian having in built feature "Data Management".

click on admin.atlassian.com  in the settings you can find data management

Once Data management selected you can see like this

While migrating check the doc https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/copy-jira-data/

Hope this helps

Hello, @Lior Nesher and welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I noticed that you mentioned backup, and it's very important when it comes to data migrations, compliance, and security. As an option, you can try GitProtect backup & Disaster Recovery. In this case, you will have a reliable backup in a separate storage (it can be 3-2-1) and then you can restore your data to another Jira Cloud account using Disaster Recovery - GitProtect permits you to fully or granularly restore your Jira data to the same or a new account or your local instance. Here, you can learn more about it: https://gitprotect.io/use-cases/jira-data-migration-and-management.html and here as well https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1228719/gitprotect-io-for-jira-backup-restore-dr-data-management?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

Kind regards,

Daria
