Hi,

I have my both source and target jira servers which have there own projects and user data, so how can i move all the data from my source jira server to the target server, without impacting any existing user data/projects on the target server.

so that post migration users from source and target jira should be able to resume their respective works

Both are running on premise server and are having sql server as a DB

Hi @rsam

You can achieve this using add-one like:

  • Configuration Manager for Jira or
  • Project configuration.

These are the easiest ways to achieve this to my knowledge.

Do be careful as you need to fix a lot of things such as conflicting project keys, users with same username but in reality are different users, all schemes, filters.

With Configuration Manager I recommend also running the integrity check to fix issues related to boards, filters and Dashboards before you merge.

From my experience, this can take you months just preparing before the final me he takes place.

Also, make sure you test this and document how you merged it before attempting anything on your production instance.

Regards.

Thanks @Ismael Jimoh  for the response, so using configuration manager or project configurator will we be able to even migrate the attachments too?
