I want my team to be notified (by email/ Slack or whatever) whenever a work item is deployed to Production.
This is mostly relevant for items labeled as a hotfix but not necessary.
Can I do that using just Jira or do I need a 3rd party integration?
A guide would be helpful.
You can do that via an automation so that when a ticket transitions to a production status, it'll send an email notification.

To start with, can you clarify what "Deployed to production" means in your business context? Is this just a transition in a workflow, releasing a release, is it related to the status of code linked to the ticket?
