Hello all,
I want to be able to make a planning for my development team, so I want to assign tasks or projects to each person in my team. In this way, the developers know on what they should work for a certain week.
I also want that the developers have an overview of what is planned for them and that they can log time on the items.
I'm looking for one tool that can do the planning but that also has the overview of the planning and where the developers can log their work.
I already tried several tools but I don't find one that can do both.
For example, Tempo has these features but the time tracking integration with Jira doesn't display the user but uses 'Tempo tracking' as user. Therefore, our integration with our invoicing system is broken.
Who can help me?
Kind regards,
Hélène
Hi @helene_geerts ,
With Tempo, we have many customers that integrate with their financial systems using our Tempo APIs, which will have all the user names.
This feature preserves the security of the data and who is allowed to see- see more here:
Hope this may help you,

Hi @helene_geerts ,
In planning the work of the team, it is also essential to estimate the cost of time spent on work. At one time, we faced such a problem when we could not accurately calculate the cost of a version, or tasks, where different employees log their time, the cost of a sprint or an individual project.
Therefore, in addition to planning, try to pay attention to the tracking of costs and expenses.
Based on our own needs and problems, we have developed an add-on for such needs Cost Tracker for Jira Cloud .
It is currently free.

If you considering using a plugin then ActivityTimeline could be a solution for you.
On a Plan dashboard, you can easily plan the tasks on a user or a team (if you need high-level planning) and track the workload and availability:
Every user has their own Work module where users easily can track all tasks on a dashboard. The Work module has a detailed timeline view with the Log Work option:

Hi!
Thank you for your response.
In ActivityTimeline I miss an important feature that I need:
I want to plan a project to a person and not a specific issue.
Do you have a solution for this?
The workspace view is a bit complex in my opinion. Can you turn on some features so that the view is a bit more clean and easy to use?
Kind regards,
Hélène

There are one solution for planning: you can create a Booking with selected Project. To do so you need to select a Booking type event, add needed Project and rename if needed. You will get a good visualization.
If you need more options, please, let me know. Or you can schedule a demo with our team to discuss how ActivityTimeline can help in your work progress.

Hello @helene_geerts Helen! :)
I would definitely recommend you giving Planyway team planner a try to help your with team planning. Planyway is a super for resource planning needs, and workflow visualization. Btw, it has robust integrations both for Jira, and for Trello as well.
Any of your colleagues will be able to check what is planned, and who is where on the timeline view. You can drag and drop your task cards, plan, monitor everything, and even track time inside if needed. Jira, btw, can't deal with time tracking :).
Here is a view from Jira:
I hope it can help you <3

Hi!
Thank you for your response!
I really like the view of Planyway.
But I miss some features.
For example, sometimes I want to plan an project to a person and not a specific issue.
I also want to be able to plan a task one day in this week and one day in another week. This I also can't do with Planyway.
Kind regards,
Hélène
