How to remove the "Selected for Development" section from the Kanban backlog

The "Selected for Development" section in the Kanban backlog is unnecessary for our project, how can it be removed from the backlog view to have a single list without any separations?

Hi @Julia Golub -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

For Jira's implementation of a Kanban board, the left-most column is the "not started yet" area, and when the Backlog is also in use, both appear in the Backlog view.

Your possible options similar to what you asked are:

• when in the backlog view, collapse the Selected for Development section and ignore it
• use a separate board for just the backlog, with a filter that only includes Backlog items
• don't use the backlog; instead just use the board and the left-most column will be the backlog

I'm not 100% sure, it looks like it's not a section in the backlog, but it's a Sprint. Maybe there is an automation that moves an item to the Sprint if it has "Selected for development" status. Ask some with permissions to edit sprints to double check that.
