How to restrict access to issues for specific groups?

Dear All,
For security reasons I would like to restrict access to issues for specific groups, members from a Data Provider should be able to see only issues linked to the EPIC of that Data Provider.

Ideally a user can be a part of multiple groups, for example my team and I are part of all groups and see all the issues in the project.

Can this be done ?
Thank you,
Krisztina

Hi Krisztina,

You can archive that using Security schemes, in the configurations of your project.

I suggest the article: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-security-schemes/

Basically, you can configure security levels for your items. Once a level is set to an item, only the people (in your case, group) specified in the level will be able to see it. You can only set one level per issue, and as you mentioned, when you want someone to be able to see all issues, just include them in all groups, or include de user in all security levels.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Krisztina TEGLASI,

Yes. The way to address this would be to set up issue level (or in the new terminology: work item level security schemes). They allow you to specify at the work item level who can access it.

See this support article on how to set this up.

Hope this helps!

Yes, it can be done by using work item security schemes. Once you created a scheme you can set the work item security level either manually or via automation.
