How to configure jira to run over https and can be accessed by others.

I have tried to work on that tutorial but it does not work. After that I can't even connect to jira in localhost
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Running+JIRA+over+SSL+or+HTTPS

So every kind of help is acceptable for me :)

So my main point is how my project members can log into jira in their homes and other places.

The steps should work. What error are you seeing in the logs?

It seems to work over https with port 8443 on localhost now, but I can't get it running public over internet with my external IP.

I have forwarded the ports and I know they work because my SVN server is up and running.

Something to do with Apache conf? Can't find where is the Jira's apache installed.
